Hi all and welcome, with an especially big welcome to the newest followers - so honoured to have you join the journey.
I've another sneak peek for you today, this time to tempt you over to Calico Crafts. I'm sharing my first adventure with DecoArt's new Chalky Finish paints... And, in hopes that the weekend is sunny, I've even kept it pretty short over there (well, for me, anyway), so as not to take up too much of your time!
I did have fun so I hope you'll have a chance to hop over to Calico for a look. I always value your comments and feedback. I'm off to Ally Pally tomorrow, Sunday, so I hope perhaps to see some of you there - otherwise I'll catch up with you soon somewhere in Craftyblogland.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
Teachers can change lives with just the right mix of chalk and challenges.

Love it! The color, the stamping, all fantastic. Love those meadow grass stamps. Maybe it will hold craft supplies now?
This is so pretty.. I have to use this colors on a piece here in my house too (such an inspiring piece )but not until our renovation is over - in maybe one million of years lol!
wonderful Alison!
I want to say thank you for your lovely words on OCC for me , my blog and my artwork!
Have a wonderful weekend dear Alison!
Am awake really early for my trip today, to Ally Pally, so just going to catch up with this now.. Shame we won't get to say Hi this time round.. I promise to leave some stash for you...
Love your first experiments with the chalk finish paints, I must get some to have a play after seeing this and Mark's creations. You have achieved such a wonderful shabby look using the petroleum jelly and the stamping finishes it off beautifully xx
Just been over, great makeover!!! I saw Mark's first one but will now have to check out his new blog, don't think I've been there yet....
This is a wonderful piece Alison and I have never heard of this product so off to have a look at your links on the other post
Love Chrissie x

Intrigued as to what it is. Furniture? Better go look...:-)
Had a look at Calico Crafts and love your altered shelf, Alison!
(You know that the Distress inks will react, when being actived by water or any other liquid?...just thought you should know in case you want to clean it).
Hugs,

Off to take a much needed look. See you on Sunday! Jenny x
It went 20 years or more without cleaning in the last house, so I'm guessing... probably craft room rather than kitchen this time, so less grease too!

Fantastic shabby chic project, love the paints and stamping. This will be a useful piece for storing stuff.

Hey Sweet Pea!! Alison this spice rack is wonderful and it most mean even more since it came out of your old home. I am saving this to my computer to see if I can have a similar result. Thanks for all or your instructions!
Sandy xx
Love projects like this one, fantastic finish with the paints. Beautiful stamps, great job :-) xxx
GREAT project, Alison! Isn't it wonderful when you can take an old, forgotten household item and turn it into something worth displaying again? Hmmm...I think I could see some crafting supplies being stored in that rack now ;) XOXO-Shari
You create the most beautiful projects with stamps! Lovely!
This is really stunning, dear Alison, like all your creatons! I love to refresh old things too, but I never tried with stamps. The chalky finish paint looks really great.
Have a nice weekend too!

It's fabulous!! I see bits of moss growing in the corners where little dainty porcelain fairies dwell and protect the contents :)
This is beautiful Alison!
Love it Alison..and glad to know I'm not the only one with kitchen greae and grime on my kitchen spice rack..lol..and feel the need to paint mine now..Loved the added stamping and too pretty to cover with spices but jars of glitter would be nice..fabulous project.
luv CHRISSYxx
A brilliant transformation - the stamping makes it really special! Would love to see what you use it for! Chrisx
Have just taken a look, a gorgeous altered shelf.
Oh Miss Alison this is perfect paint for you, it gives a fantastic background for you beautiful stamping, your craft room is going to be a work of art with all your gorgeous creations, I can't wait to see what you create, I know they will be an inspiration to us all...
Gorgeous piece Alison, these paints really suit your style xx
Yes, this is just gorgous!
Wow Alison this is truly gorgeous and the paint looks awesome. I had looked at it when it first came out but the tubs are quite large and expensive so I think I would only have them for decor pieces like this. I haven't yet seen them in smaller bottles. I love your vasaline technique, I have used it quite a lot as it does make a gorgeous background especially with paints like these :-) Kezzy xxx
Very pretty. I'm impressed with the no prep work needed on that paint! I hate prep! Stuff like that might actually make me want to paint. Don't go holding your breath though!!! I won't be held responsible.
Stunning transformation, Alison. Love it!
