Found and Lost

Hello all!  Just a sneak peek today to carry you away to Destination Inspiration over at A Vintage Journey.  The slightly odd post title had to happen because I've already used Lost and Found at least once.  And that was a little boy too... odd how these things happen.

I've been having a lovely time playing with Seth Apter's Wood Chips again (check out the Windswept Grasses if you missed the first results).  And although that part was great fun, the background for this one took several goes to get started so it was quite a journey before I was happy.  I hope you'll have time to hop over and see where I ended up.

Have a great week, everybody!

If you don't mind hopping to see the whole thing, I'd love to enter this at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge where the theme is Layer It Up

This is terrific Alison with so many great ideas. I just love the use of the wooden shapes and have decided I must dig out my box of wooden cut outs to see what is lurking in it as I haven't used any for ages.

Always something inspiring on your blog

Love Chrissie xx

Alison...I put this on A Vintage Journey's comments as well...but I wanted to be sure you saw it. :) Your color palette is right up my alley. I ALWAYS love everything you do and I think the colors have something to do with that! :) This piece is amazing! I SO LOVE your background. The white space is so striking with the colors and patterns you've added. LOVE LOVE the blueish tones of the collaged rectangles. Love the photograph and the wire around it. This is just beautiful!

Sometimes messy is better. Love stumbled background, the addition of the stones near the end and aren't you about out of rusty wire? ;) Overall a fab piece, butterfly.! Hugs

I've been a bad visitor again Alison! So sorry but time seems to get away from me lately (largely due to not being happy at work - sigh!)
Will pop over to see what you've created too as your peek looks intriguing.

What is it that we've lost and found? Or possibly not found? The boy? His dog? Youth? I suspect it is youth and the days of yesterday. And they aren't truly found, only kept alive in our memories.

Gorgeous canvas! The stencil pattern in the background is beautiful with the subtle gloss. I really love all the different materials that have come together to create such a wonderful piece. Wood chippies, rusted wire, and glass crystals... brilliant Alison, just adore this! hugs :)

A brilliant canvas and I think you made the right choice with the background. The wood piece layout contrasts really well with the fluidity of that background with all its layers and detail. It is gorgeous. x
