A Generous Baker's Dozen for 2015

Hello all!  So I'm finally catching up with the right year...

As I was putting together my top Calico picks (check them out here), I realised I hadn't done my usual selection of projects here at Words and Pictures yet.  And it turned out I'd forgotten 2014 altogether, so I did a retrospective retrospective!  With 2014 finally honoured, I started scrolling through my 2015 creations and trying to decide on a Baker's Dozen.  As usual, the whittling has been tricky, but here are some of my favourites from last year.

I haven't included any of my Tim tags though I love them all (and you can see them all here anyway!) or any of the things made at workshops (though they are definite favourites - you can see them here) and I haven't included any creations which appeared on other blogs as part of Design Team or Guest Designer duties.  I'm away from my craft desk quite a lot over the next few months, so I'll be running catch-up posts collecting those projects together here at Words and Pictures, which means you'll get to see them again anyway (and I'll leave it to you to judge which ones might have made the shortlist!).

If you were keeping count you'll notice my baker is even more generous with his dozen than the phrase already allows for.  But I think reflection is a really important part of the creative process, and looking back can be a real inspiration for taking the next steps forward, so I'd whittled as far as I wanted to.  I hope you've enjoyed this collection, and I hope I've included some of your favourites too.  Now onwards into 2016!

You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have really lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love.

I also enjoyed this collection!
One of my absolute favourites, Cherish Possibility. The use of the "stained glass" colours caught my attention at the time and continues to do so.

Great choices Alison and if they are your choices they must make you very happy I reckon.

Fabulous revisit and inspiration! And who's counting anyway! They are all lovely, and many of them I've had bookmarked as a treasure to visit again. Like looking through a favorite picture book, your work transports me from the mundane to the glorious possibilities. Sounds like you've a busy couple of months ahead - safe travels, friend! xxx Lynn

Wow Alison - these are all just so beautiful - what a treat. The Depths of Winter is my favorite - why... it just speaks to me. I think of times when my soul felt like I was in the depth of winter - buried - dying.... and I found that it is amazing to look around - even when you are "underground" - there are good things - there is beauty. Someone that hasn't been there wouldn't understand. You do have to dig deep and dare to open you eyes... and every breath is shallow but air bubbles DO rise to the top and so do we... after a while. I REALLY LOVE THIS CREATION. Second favorite is A Beautiful Adventure - I loved it the first time I saw it... it just flows perfectly and the colors are gorgeous. BUT... I love them all - YOU ARE SOOOO TALENTED. HAPPY NEW YEAR. Looking forward to seeing your 2016 projects!!! j.

People used to ignore the very boring guest book in Small Worlds. Now that the Dollshouse Book is there, they almost fight to write in it. In their very best writing as well....so I think that has to be my favourite. It battles with Remember, Remember though.

How wonderful to see all these beauties in one place! I know it must have been hard to choose your favorites, and of all these favorites, MY favorite is "Never Doubt Your Instinct" for the quote and for that lovely watery background and that grungy rust! Yum!. But I think there are other favorites for other reasons. This is why I don't make a good DT member; I find so much I love about everything I see! Off to see more; I'm way behind on visiting! Hugs!
