Box of Delights at Artist Trading Post

Hello all, and a warm welcome to Words and Pictures.  So happy you enjoyed my Hidden Objects over at PaperArtsy - thank you for the lovely comments there.

I'm here with an exciting post today.  Earlier this year, I was delighted to be invited by the amazing Kasia Krzyminska to be a guest over at the Artist Trading Post blog.  Thankfully, I was able to make my projects before life got too busy to breathe, and now I finally get to share them with you.

The theme at Artist Trading Post this time around is to use Crafter's Workshop stencils so, as regulars will guess, I leapt at the chance to play.  I'm so honoured to be the Guest Designer for this month.

The first of the projects I came up with (using Kasia's own Herbarium design) is over there now, and I hope this sneak peek will tempt you to hop over and see more.  There's been some major upcycling going on.

Oh, and do make sure you don't miss my Butterfly Blogaversary Candy!

A herbarium is better than any illustration; every botanist should make one.

Your trinket box (that's a pretty fancy name for a plastic box, Alison!) is gorgeous! I love all the texture that remains in the background, allowing your stenciled leave to command center stage! Well, until your metal work and chitchat stickers were added! So very beautiful!

I love this Alison. Don't worry about not visiting, it's hard to do everything and I've been playing hookey too. Trying to enjoy time with my college girl and our new fur baby. Hopefully I can get back in the swing of things as well. This looks amazing and I'm off to pop over to the blog to have a proper look. Congrats on being the GD this month and Happy Blogaversary!!! xx

The marbling technique you used was fascinating to see in that frame. My daughter uses that same technique on her fingernails and I just sit in amazement watching. I can only imagine how much fun you had with this. The transformation is incredible!

Just popped over to see that amazing recycle reclaim. Wonderful. I've got to say that you are making it very hard to stay on your blog to see what else you have been up to. All I want to do is go run downstairs and play with texture :) Mary Elizabeth
