Oops...

Oops, indeed!

Yes, I nearly missed this one!

There I was, thinking I had it all under control, and that I'd completed my Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas (with just one bonus tag to go), and suddenly I realised I'd completely forgotten about number 11!

I was in the middle of writing the post for Tags 6 and 7 (you'll see that tomorrow), and realised I'd better stop writing and start crafting again immediately.

With the light fading, I had to be quick, so it's a pretty close casing of Linda's wonderful number 11 with just a couple of alterations owing to different supplies being used.

Quite apart from anything else, I'm working on a smaller tag rather than the jumbo size.

I loved the natural colours of the scene in the background, so decided to stick with that, but used Distress Stains to create it.  I had a lovely time letting the stains run and blend in the background for the ground and the sky.

I stamped my little trees very simply to create the woods along the horizon.

The little deer was another of my lucky buys in the recent Sizzix Mega-Sale (it really was mega... I got him and the "25" that goes with him for £2.75!), so I was delighted to give him his debut here, cut from a piece of the Maja It's Christmas Time paper.

I used the brown Stampers Big Brush Pen to create the shadow underneath him so that he's not floating in mid-air, and did some more pen work using the green and white Big Brush Pens to create some grassy snowy textures.

I don't have the Snowflake On the Edge die, but I'd bought a bunch of pre-cut ones from ebay.  No vivid Distress Glitter, so I inked the snowflakes with Tumbled Glass and Broken China, and then added some Rock Candy Dry Glitter.

I used the white pen to add just a dusting of snow to the trees...

Oh, and used a bit of music stamping in the background as Linda did too.

A little bit of seam binding, inked with the same colours, and an Idea-ology Muse Token with an appropriate word, and that's pretty much that - speed-tag!!

Just as well that Linda added the bonus tags with the extended deadline, or I would have had to declare defeat this year!

Thank you so much for dropping in today... I promise we'll be moving on from Christmas soon - but it's only just gone Twelfth Night and we're just taking down decorations today, so I'm not feeling too guilty.

If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.
Mario Andretti

I'd like to enter this as Tag 11 in the Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas, sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Lovely deer on a pretty tag. I need to learn how to make shadows now??? Oh boy! I would never know where or how to add them.! It does add to your tag, though. Don't you love a bargain? I might have made a purchase or two in the Sizzix sale over here. :-) Love how you did the forest, and the snowflakes.

Alison, this is one of my favorite tags. I have a family of deer which frequent my yard so it reminds me of the mama deer and I love snowflakes. Awesome tag!!! The colors are great together too. :) Hugs

That could so nearly have been me! I think I woke up in the night and realized I hadn't done one of the tags I thought I had a little while ago! Having said that, this is lovely. Not only have I enjoyed creating these tags myself, but it's been so inspiring looking at what the other talented participants have come up with. I really love your use of the idea-ology tag on this and your use of colour. Julie Ann xx

So much wonderful on a little tag. I love the colors. I covet that tree stamp (or I think it is really several trees in one stamp).

Beautiful tag...but i'm really out of the christmas mood. To be honest, i wasn't in already. Everything went too fast last year. I'm happy to say that i'm moving on with our trade. Box and book are ready only the tags for the inside and the decorating of the pages are left. See, still thinking of you.(:o)

Fabulous colour tones Alison. The scene reminds me of the winter just finishing and a little hint of spring on the way. Amazing shadow work.

Fabulous buy, where was I when it was going on??

I think this is one of my favourites and it's almost as though the deer is heralding the last fall of snow for the year. Oh, if only that were going to be the case! Jenny x

Gorgeous background. Love those pine trees. I am a bit skitish of trying backgrounds like this. They seem tricky. looks quite real with the reindeer. Love it!

What a wonderful tag. My Dad grew up in Woodlands like this...with deer at his door and bears too!
He was 12 miles from town (neighbours) and ran the farm since he was 13 years old. Your tag brought me back lots of memories of our old homestead.

Ok -- really jealous of you. I wish I had found the Funkie Junkie challenge last month. Well, maybe not. I really could not have even attempted it with all that was going on in my life. However, I truly enjoyed it vicariously through you and some of the other crafters. Wonderful make Alison! Glad you got them all done! -- Mary Elizabeth
