Hello all, and welcome back to Words and Pictures for a very exciting post! It's time for PaperArtsy to reveal the new Lynne Perrella stamps - five amazing new sets to play with. You can see the details of all of them over at PaperArtsy right now, along with inspiration created by some of my fantastic team-mates.
I was lucky enough to get to play with two of the sets, and today I'm sharing just a few quick looks at some of the projects I created. I'll offer them up in more detail over the coming days.
We were given a brief for the show samples to use turquoise and orange. Regulars will know that turquoise poses no difficulties round here... but orange is another matter. I came to the conclusion that it helped to think of it as "bright rust"!!
So here are all the new stamp sets...
I was playing with LP#26 and LP#28 here, and I had such a ball.
I've been a bit shy of Lynne Perrella stamps in the past - they're such amazing images that I sometimes wonder what to do other than stamp them on plain paper and stand back and admire them!
But perhaps it was the colour challenge which kicked me into action, because once I started I couldn't stop!
There are a couple of jumbo tags. One was created entirely with Fresco paints (plus Archival ink to stamp with). I call her the Guardian of the Flowerpots!
I love these ornamental pot plants - so elegant - and the little script stamp has shot straight into my favourites list.
On the other jumbo tag, I played with my newly arrived Pan Pastels for the first time (yes, as you'll know if you were here yesterday, my willpower finally gave out... and I love them!).
I added some Treasure Gold for the shimmering highlights. You have to catch'em in the right light!
There's a pair of regular tags which play with the colour contrast of the turquoise and orange, reversing their roles from tag to tag.
And these two are heading over to play at the Stampotique Designers Challenge.
I added metal embellishments on these... pen nibs and other bits and bobs, all altered to match the colour scheme.
There's an altered envelope (envelopes have somehow seemed to spring to hand with these PaperArtsy releases - you may remember the faerie houses from the Darcy release, stamped on cash envelopes).
It just seemed the perfect place for this little mail-art collage.
I can only give you a little sneak peek of this canvas. I'll be sharing it as a step-by-step over at PaperArtsy next month...
And then there's my favourite piece of all, which I'll definitely show you in lots more detail another day.
Corrugated cardboard? Check.
Altered metal? Check.
Words...? I was missing words, so I simply had to add one of the wordy stamps from last year's Sara Naumann Eclectica release. It seemed perfect for Queen Nibs... Check!
So I hope I've whetted your appetite with that taster of just some of Lynne's brilliant stamps.
They'll be available at your local PaperArtsy stockists after the official launch at Stitches Trade Show, February 16th - 18th. Do hop over to PaperArtsy for all the details, and to see what my fabulous team-mates got up to with these stamps.
Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.

With the feeling that for the first time I really got inside a Lynne Perrella stamp (or two!) I'd like to enter these for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge which is We Love Stamps. Yes, we do!
And I'd like to offer up the pair of contrasting tags to the Perfect Pairs theme over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge.
Oh Alison, Each and every project you have made here is stunning. I couldn't pick a favourite if you had asked me too. I love them all.

ReplyDeleteI really love this new release of stamps and you have done some stunning work with them, the turquoise and orange work wonderfully well together. Anne x
ReplyDeleteWhoohoo! You can tell when you are excited over a project. These are all stunning and fantastic! And they are not a color combo that I would have thought I would like. But I do! You have used just the right shades of each color. A feast for the eyes! Love the names you gave to the stamps, too.
ReplyDeleteWow! These are stunners Alison. Such beautiful colour and texture and gorgeous stamping.
ReplyDeleteLooks like more stamps for the wish list.
Fliss xx

It is such a beautiful colour combination yet one I would never venture to play with - you know my phobia for colour! However I do adore it hand in hand with Lynne's images.
ReplyDeleteI've said before but it has to be said again that she is inspirational. Her detailing is astonishing. I never tire of viewing her art, the way she embraces art through the ages, cultures and colour is astonishing.
Alison, I love your creations, you have certainly created samples that showcase the stamps beautifully.
Wishes
Lynne
All of these pieces look fabulous, looks like another set of awesome images.
ReplyDeleteYvonne
So fantastic. You've been very creative, wonderful pieces.
ReplyDeleteBright rust is a good way to think of orange, especially for you, lover all things rusted and vintage. The jumbo and regular sized tags are really cool. Somehow I wouldn't consider those stamps to be your style but you truly used them to your usual potential. Are you sure that isn't a cookie on the sneak peek of the canvas? My tummy tells me it is cookie. That last project? Yeah..... that's you all over! Now can I have my cookie?!
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm speachless! Amazing!
ReplyDeletehugs, Unni
These are absolutely stunning. How inspired to use rust so effectively. I think these images go really well with the Sara Nauman Eclectica stamps: they are just made for each other because the text from the Eclectica plates is so understated and doesn't compete with the images, complementing them perfectly. I love your tag, which has a Byzantine feel, I think. I would love to see the Treasure Gold irl. I know just what you mean about these images being so complete in themselves that all we can do is stand back and admire, but you have risen to the challenge fantastically and created beautiful art. Thank you for such inspiration! Julie Ann xx
ReplyDeleteFab creations all of them, but that last one is definitely my favourite too! Now these are stamps after my own heart....
ReplyDeleteAlison, these are all stunning works of art, but then I am always inspired and amazed by your talent.
ReplyDeleteI adore the colors, I love the shade of orange you used, some of my fave colors in distress inks are the rusty hinge and spiced marmalade-with the turquoise, perfect.
What fun stamps and I love the corrugated cardboard piece. Can't wait to see the canvas.
Take care....
Wonderful samples Alison and I love the concept of bright rust for the orange. Xx

I agree with your view about standing back from LP stamps but these latest plates are somehow different & can imagine using them on lots of different projects.
ReplyDeleteThe colour combination works so well, a match made in heaven but am looking forward to seeing other colours used as imho it will only be then that i will see their true potential.
