Inktober Week 2

Hello all - I'm still carving time out of each sorting/clearing/packing/moving day for at least a daily Inktober contribution.  I'm not following the main prompts, but working on autumn leaves, grasses, berries and flowers - things I really want to get better at.  I'm playing with line and wash - either starting with a pen sketch and then watercolouring, or adding pen work to a watercolour sketch.  And then there's usually a final stage of adding extra details with both!

There are up days and down days, ones I really like and others which make me less happy, but rather than faff around with all that, I'm just going to let you take a look for yourselves.  Welcome to the autumnal gallery.  (All the details of what materials I'm using are in Inktober Week 1.)

Oh, and just before I go - I want to show you those sycamore seeds taken from life...

... and the grasses taken from some grasses I glued and sealed to watercolour paper three years ago and haven't got round to adding colour to yet (though I have watercoloured some of the ones I made!).

I'm pretty pleased with both these, and the cluster of purple ivy berries this week.  I hope you'll find some favourites amongst them too.

The learning curve is fascinating (and steep!) and I'm enjoying discovering what works for me and what doesn't... which is really the whole point of a daily challenge - as well as to keep me sane in the midst of trying to move house across a continent in the middle of a global pandemic.  (Top tip: don't do it!!)  But with Brexit looming - and who knows what horrors in terms of trying to take van loads of stuff across international borders - I've got to get out while I can.

I'm going to add those berries to Sara Emily's Purple, Orange and Green theme over at the Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog - it's a rusty orange, but it's definitely in the orange zone, and she specifically said it didn't have to be Halloween!
