Brand New PaperArtsy Words

Hello all!  It's one of those heart-in-mouth, pulse-pounding nights...  I've got some new word stamps launching at PaperArtsy.  There are three new collections:  Gardens & Growth, Life & Living and Night & Day.  If you're quick, you can catch me talking about them in my first ever Facebook Live over on the PaperArtsy People group at 7.30pm UK time, Monday (though I hope the recording will stay there for late arrivals too!).

I'm so excited about these three collections - there are some really beautiful quotes on all three sets.  It's going to be tough to pick a favourite from these, I think.  I hope you'll have time to hop over to PaperArtsy to see some of the samples I've created to get the inspiration flowing, and I'd love to know which set would be at the top of your list!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for hopping onwards.  All of this wouldn't be half as much fun without your company along the way.  You'll see why I haven't been a very good visitor lately when you see what I've been up to over at PaperArtsy, but I'll be back to visit regularly again now it's all done!  Stay safe, stay well, and see you soon.

Colours fade, temples crumble, empires fall, but wise words endure.

  4. Now I understand your reference to my Night and Day journal page I created recently. These are absolutely incredible. It would definitely be hard for me to pick a favorite, although I'm truly a fan of those night and day words, quotes, and art work.

  5. You always have quotes that make me think and ponder the author's thoughts!
I thank you for that. Since the proportion of men who get credit in history and on and on in this world, I would like to propose that you continue to seek out good quotes from women in our world! (I have nothing against men, btw!) l will be anxious to use your inspiration for Edith Wharton's quote and during our confinement especially the one by George Elliot about continuing to long and wish! Again, thank you, Alison!

  11. Thank you for your lovely, thoughtful comment, Mary (and to all the rest of you too - but unlike others, I can't find a blog for Mary so that I can pay a return visit!).

I quite agree about the male/female words thing. I always have at least one quote by a woman on each set, but because they are all copyright-free words, it means they have to be from at least 70 years after the writer's death. So we're still talking about times when men's voices were recorded far more than women's. But believe me, I'm fully behind making sure we hear from as many women as possible!

  22. Thank you for your response, Alison. There is no blog for me, although I have considered it, but others are far better at keeping up with their readers than I am afraid I would be! Sadly, women, have been invisible for much of our lives, but I keep reminding everyone (me included!) to seek out and push women to not be invisible. 70 years isn't too long ago (I'm 72!) but I get what you mean. NPR (National Public Radio in the USA) had a presentation a while back encouraging journalists to seek out other speakers - preferably women and to get a more representative percentage of female "specialists" to quote and use in their interviews. Most of those in the presentation had many reasons why it was difficult...but what my "take-away" was that each of us needs to work a little harder to encourage and promote our part of the population. After all, we are the majority (or at least we were before covid-19). I've always loved to write quotes for inspiration and now I have a means to share them in my cardmaking crafts. Yours are frequently ones I turn to, as you seem to have a knack for finding themes that are perfect the topics that keep recurring in my art!

Thanks, again, for your response! I really appreciate it!

  23. Congratulations on the new releases, I've just had a look at what you've been doing and the word sets are wonderful and your work to showcase the words is beautiful, as always! I'm sure I've said before that I struggle putting words in my work for some reason, and I can't fathom out why as I so admire the right quote in the right place when I see other people's work. You have collected some beautiful words together with your sets and I have to say that the garden quotes are the ones I homed in on, but everything is about the garden with me most of the time!!
