Gilded Verdigris

Hello all - just a sneak peek for you today.  I'm over at Calico Craft Parts today with the second of my guest appearances for this month.  (The first was my Springtime Shadowbox, in case you missed it.)  Although there were a couple of stages along the way where I sort of wish I'd stopped, I did end up with this warm golden glow which I rather like.

Along the way, this pair of tags were subjected to Distress Oxides, Verday metal distressing paint, and Treasure Gold to create a gilded verdigris antiqued look on the Craft Parts.  It's just as well the Craft Parts can put up with almost any amount of mixed media applications!

It's been really lovely to spend some time back at my old stamping ground at Calico - I hope you'll have a chance to hop over and see what I've done this time around.

Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such.

  2. These tags are so beautiful, Alison! The stencil is fantastic... I can tell I must have one :-) The chosen colours are absolutely fabulous - the Broken China looks great with the golden yellowish tones. And of course the MDF elements are beautiful too! Big hugs

  3. Stunning tags Alison and so many ideas for us to think about. Who would have thought a dab of gold here and there could add so much to the whole things and it was already very beautiful.

    Great words today as well

    Love Chrissie xx

  17. Luscious sneak peek, so off to see more! Thank you for checking in with me - hope to post soon. Everything is fine, but the move and moving and re-organizing my craft room, which is now quite large for an embarrassing amount of goodies has taken me a LOT longer than I'd thought. And now I cannot decide where to start playing! But your wondrous effects with the Oxides is fabulous inspiration, and I have to remember to tell myself I don't have to get all the ideas I have done at once, lol! xxx Lynn

  23. Oh, Wow, Alison! Here's another I didn't have the patience for the link to load on my sluggish (to put it mildly) computer. But all is good today, and I'm so excited to see how these STUNNING tags came together! AMAZING outcome! I'm bookmarking this, because I've got to get those products you've used to get this amazing finish on those chippies! Love, Love, LOVE these! Hugs!
