Steam(Punk) Train
Hello all... second sneak peek in a row in this busy week!
After yesterday's Artistic Stamper project, I've a quick post here at Words and Pictures today just to let you know about a chance to revisit a real blast from the past over at Artistic Outpost today.
I'm sharing a project I made way back in September 2012, before I was even on the Artistic Outpost Design Team... but it was one of my favourite early makes (when I'd only been on this whole Craftyblogland journey for a few months), and I thought it deserved an airing over there.
It would be lovely if you have time to hop over and check it out. For many of you it will probably be the first viewing, and I hope you enjoy the nostalgic trip if you saw it before!
A time will come when people will travel in stages moved by steam engines from one city to another, almost as fast as birds can fly, 15 or 20 miles an hour...

ReplyDeleteFabulous triptych Alison, the stamping onto tissue paper was brilliant it has given you a beautiful symmetrical design. Xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I love the way you decorated the back as well and used the ticket images as hinges.
ReplyDeleteLove Chrissie x

ReplyDeleteI think I missed this first time round, I have been over to see it in all it's glory and love it!! A lot! Anne x
ReplyDeleteSteampunk as it should be! Hope your trains today work as well....

It looks superb Alison! In all its Steampunky glory! Lovely vintage piece. xxx
ReplyDeleteI had not seen it before. Fantastic project! Such stamping and layering, but still has a simplicity of subject, the train! Almost can be there. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the special effects with the smoke! I just made my son a BD card with a train and this is a train I know he would love! Off for a better look!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cathy-Lynn

ReplyDeleteOff for a blast from the past!
ReplyDeleteWhat a triptych Alison,
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful " goldfever-like " :-) love that stamp of the old train, and your smoke is fantastic.
Hugs to you- Dorthe
I have now seen the whole project! It's amazing you had only been crafting for a few months when you created it. Thank you so much for giving us a look at your early work, which is full of atmosphere and so well done. Julie Ann xxx
ReplyDeleteOn my way over.... Hugs May x x
ReplyDeleteAn absolutely lovely and historic triptych, Alison. Your color palette is perfect for this vintage piece of art. Super with all its detail!
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous vintage piece!!! :) Hugs, Coco xxx
ReplyDeleteJust been over and have to say Alison it is truly remarkable, love it. Annette x
ReplyDeleteHow pleased am I that you decided to show this again Alison as I didn't see first time around and what a beauty I missed. My fave colours again.
ReplyDeleteWarm crafty hugs from Shirl x x
Wow, glad you gave this a second viewing. It is a fantastic piece.

This looks great already, off to see more!
ReplyDeleteJust been to see it. I'm really glad you dug it out from the archives, Alison - it's fantastic and demands to be seen and appreciated. I epsecially like it that it's quite masculine - I think we crafters often forget that genre (too hard?)apart from the steampunk stuff.
ReplyDeleteWent over to AO and saw the entire project. I am so glad you shared this piece with us. Love the stamps and how you used them. The idea of stamping on tissue paper so that you can reverse the train was brilliant. No meager crafty beginnings for you :) You came out of the gate with innovative and stunning projects. Love it! -- Mary Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteHave just taken a look and must say I'm missing words. A fantastic triptych - FANTASTIC.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very lovely piece although it does bring back those annoying word math problems. One train leaves the station heading west at 25 mph, the other train leaves a station heading east at 28 mph, how many lawyers will be involved?
ReplyDeleteHello Miss Alison, I'm sure it show an extra showing and I believe my first, squawk, I'm so excited, flying there right now in high gear..
ReplyDeleteOkay I'm back :), Missy you were born to create, the triptych is just fantastic, the front is fan-tas-tic, looks like some old black and white photos, love the sky, amazing, the back is stunning, the way you joined it brilliant, you know what is wonderful is to have seen you come into your own, your work was fantastic then, now your creations with all your very own special touches, that would be those magic fingers, superior work now my dear, I feel blessed, you are one of my biggest inspirations, thanks Miss Butterfly, flying to my desk, while there is a few ours of light, have a wonderful day, ((( BIG HUGS)))...
ReplyDeleteJust been over to look, it is a wonderful piece, really gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the triptych! Each panel is wonderful with the AO images, and the back really makes me happy! LOVE!
ReplyDeleteAlison, I've been browsing through the wide range of projects you shared this week and each one is absolutely amazing. Love your style so much!!! I'll be dropping by the various blogs to check out your sneak peeks, can't wait. :) Hugs, Lisa
