Hello all - it's time for the final PaperArtsy sneak peek. We made it! And with this one I've given in to Christmas.
I've had the most amazing semester - four months of steep learning curves and wonderful fun, with some struggles and many delights.
This last project certainly qualifies for the "struggles" label - it was quite a process! - but I really hope you'll like the end result.

This project is certainly a labour of love, and it looks incredible - well done for keeping at it! I have loved seeing what you do with the Paperartsy supplies, I will miss your projects for them - but know you will keep using them so all is not lost!!

ReplyDeleteHallelujah, that was some journey indeed! To be honest I quite liked the brown version (though I agree the colour was better before the Uteeh), but the blue version is really stunning!

Oh yes, with great aplomb! Stunning end result and you were so correct to stick to your artistic instincts. Thank-you for all the tips and research that may save the rest of us tearing our hair out at some point. Job terrifically well done and i hope PA invite u back soon. What a fabulous finale project Alison, the wonderful colours, images and crackle are spectacular and make the most sensational baubles made in your own inimitable style. Sooo beautiful! Here goes..love the crackle, the brushstrokes around the edge, the depth of the images, the pewter and the gilding touches. Oh, and the holly! Such patience and persistence(sp?). Thank you for this, I loved the photos, and reading about it. Can't find the right words to tell you how much I enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI know these were quite frustrating and something of an experiment, but they really are beautiful! Your perseverance paid off wonderfully! Although I will admit that I chuckled as you described the photo session...I can only imagine!

ReplyDeleteI was putting myself into your crafty shoes over on Paper ARtsy and laughing through it all. Well I must say that I love the blues better and they turned out gorgeous. I think the browns are savable and if you are like me they are in a box waiting for rehab. lol You sure are great at adding textures and paint colors. The end results are gorgeous no matter how you got there, yes I bet it was hard. lol I love them.

Gasp - my all time favorite is your wooden panel painting. And Alison, you have no idea how much I appreciate you telling us what you did!!! I was fortunate enough to visit the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. I believe they have the largest collection of early Christian panel paintings in the world. Your icon is reminiscent of all the gorgeous icons in Italy and Greece. Oh you have outdone yourself kid!!!!!
