WOYWW 182

No, no, no... it's simply not possible that it's Wednesday again!  Someone's been stealing my days...

Ah well, the good thing about it is it means that it's time for another bloghop around the crafty workdesks of the world, courtesy of our lovely hostess, Julia Dunnit, over at the Stamping Ground.  So here's What's On My Workdesk this Wednesday... What's On Yours?!

It's my last week in my temporary accommodation while I'm working away from home, so all this really will have to be packed up by Friday morning.  I battled my way here on the train with too many bags plus the cargo case, but I'm so relieved to say that my lovely and long-suffering brother is coming up with the car to take stuff home for me... it'll make packing less painful, not to mention the journey!

There are a couple of finished projects still lying around - the thank you card, Much Relief, and the tag, A heart full of love (click on either - or indeed both - of those for a closer look), and I've covered up a DT piece which you're not allowed to see until Friday.

There's also an MDF heart I'm about to have a play with, and a tin I've just started altering (under the stamps at the left).  A thin coat of gesso on the lid, so far, is all I've done... and it's going to need plenty more to cover up the bright primary colours!  That's going to have to wait until I get home I think.  For now, it's doing a good job of storing the things I've made whilst here, ready for transporting.  And this time next week, I'll be home.

Thanks so much for taking the time to drop in...  If you leave a comment, I'll be sure to come round and have a nose around at your place!!  Happy WOYWW everyone...

Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one; stronger than magician ever spoke, or spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration.

  1. Do you find that when you come to pack up to go home, you can't for the life of you remember how on earth you fitted it all in to come away?

  5. Gosh Alison, you have achieved so much in your time away from home. I just wouldn't be able to do it - I'd be short of something or another.
Not clicked on your links as yet, but know they will be adorable.
You have jumped from a 9 to a zero - so that will muddle your strategy now. LOL

  14. Love the supply case there on your desk. I have been just taking my art journal and tangle journal lately (3 granddaughters keep it limited) I'm not playing this week, just home between trips for a few days, and needed to catch up with WOYWW. I am packing card makings this next trip. :)
    Have a great week.

  17. Don't know why you are having trouble with my site? It's hosted on Go Daddy and to my knowledge isn't dangerous lol.. In any event thanks for the pop by and the peek! I couldn't possibly take anything with me when I travel as it's the only time I have to get away from everything!

  27. Some gorgeous stuff on your desk - I particularly like the die cut (I think) border near the card. That's very baroque and scrummy..yum!!
So, you're on the homeward leg of your theatre run - hope it's been successful. At least you won't have to battle the train to get back home. Good old brother, eh??

  34. Lovely desk, Alison! Gorgeous colours, bautiful tag. I love the TH storage caddy you've got, and it looks as if it's being put to good use!

Thanks for your visit, and I'm so glad you like my album so far. I worked on it some more this afternoon and have just uploaded another post. I had the Tattered Time stack on my shelf for over a year because I felt exactly the same about it as you do!! I'd get it down and stroke it every now and again. Have a look on Youtube and you'll find some gorgeous albums people have made with it - this is what kick-started me.

    Happy WOYWW,

  37. Hi Alison, thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I really do love the smash books. I have 2 going at the same time. One is a weight loss journal and the other is just day to day stuff that I want to keep but, I don't want to do 12x12 pages for it. I also have a couple more in reserve. #89

  38. OOh fab tag. Love the close up a post back. I used to thread little heart punchies on safety pins too - I still love the look and don't know why I ever stopped. Looks so sweet, and just the right dimensional touch.

  39. You must be a very organised person, well a lot more organised than I am, to decide just what to take with your to make such beautiful pieces. I go to a monthly stamping club, usually take the kitchen sink and still seem to have forgotten the one item I really NEED.

Thanks for visiting yesterday and I'm sorry I've only just got round - been finishing one of the boxes on my desk - will blog it later.

  43. I have to confess - it's me. I'm the Wednesday thief. The trouble is, each time I steal one, it's a slippery little devil and just slips through my grasp.... ....

Hear hear on the Charles Dickes quote though....

    Thanks for stopping by!

  44. Well, you have been so productive for not even being at home! But I'm happy for you to get a private ride home, especially with your completed projects and so on. Thanks for stopping by my desk already and leaving such a sweet and encouraging comment. I've totally lost track of time myself...it only feels like Sunday to me! But its already Tuesday morning! Ah, well, so long for now. Take care, Deeyll
