I think I managed a full house last week! At least, there were one or two links I couldn't make work, but other than that... so I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself! I can't promise the same this week, but I'll do my best.
Anyone baffled by my opening statement has clearly never played along with What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, hosted each week by the lovely Julia Dunnit over at the Stamping Ground.
Make your way there as fast as possible for every Nosy-Parker's favourite blog hop as we ogle the craft desks of the world...
I'm still in my temporary accommodation with my travelling stash. Last week you saw my lovely early Christmas present - the fabulous Tim Holtz cargo case.
What you didn't see was some of the stuff which replaced clothes in the suitcase (got to get your priorities right, you know). So I've included these two pictures of the shelves just by the work table.
Lots of lace, and ribbons, and spare sponges, and tapes, and string, and masks, and doilies, and die-cuts bought from ebay, and even an old book for tearing up on one shelf (no, I didn't bring the glass decanter)...
... and lots of stamps on another shelf (nor did I bring the telephone!).
And on the table itself - well, I've just cleared up all the mess from the projects I completed at the weekend, which you'll see over the next couple of days (even later today, perhaps, if I get my act together).
There are a couple of tags where I've been experimenting with the PaperArtsy crackle glaze, and my Thankful Heart which some of you will already have seen in close-up. And the turquoise tag was just where I used up some leftover paint (which gives you a clue to the colours you'll be seeing in the next couple of posts), and tried out a new music stamp. Just trying on the flower wreath for size...
Lovely to have you stop by today, and I'll be using my lunch and supper breaks again to try to visit as many desks as possible. For now, happy crafting and happy WOYWW!
You want to be a bit compulsive in your art or craft or whatever you do.
Steve Martin
Yes, I daresay... but compulsive crafting leads to complicated packing!
Well I have done the first 10, then spotted your name so couldn't resist popping in to say hi...I love your temp work desk....and is that the phone I see BEHIND the stamps? I can see what you consider more important (and rightly so!)and clothes?...Pah! Not when you can bring extra craft stuff! ;o)The colours you are using are gorgeous and I ADORE the crackle paint! Happy WOYWW! xxx Laura #51
ReplyDeleteWas only just wondering about the decanter, Alison,
ReplyDeletebut luckily you solved this riddle-to-be for me right in time. ;)
That crackle-stuff looks just great! Will have to try this sometime too. And your terrific cargo-case has inspired me to give a Christmas-present to myself too this year. lol
Happy crafting!
Claudia xxx
Hi Alison, you seem to have set up your temp craft space very well. Love the tag, the crackle paste from Paperartsy is fab, and works so fast. Have a good one. Love Francesca #66

Glad to see you mentioned the decanter wasn't in your essential packing!! Mind you, the odd glass of vino is rather nice, for medicinal purposes of course:) Looks like you are having fun with the Paperartsy stuff and the turquoise projects sound intriquing. Happy WOYWW, hugs Buttons #77
ReplyDeleteHi there!
ReplyDeleteLove the tags on your desk!
Jellina #80
Bringing the glass decanter may have been a step too far in creating a home from home, but substituting clothes for sash is perfectly acceptable! Who needs to dress when you have crafting to keep you occupied? ;)
ReplyDeleteLove from the bears @#78 this week
How tidy...you should see my desk after playing with paper last night....bit too ashamed to show the world! Love the tags with the crackling and the wreath - beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteYou really DO have the crafting bug....lol your suitcases must be packed full. xx
ReplyDeleteI am relieved to hear the decanter is not intended as a Christmas present for me :-)
ReplyDeleteI am presuming you are not in temporary accommodation across water that requires a plane journey then Alison!
ReplyDeleteLovely peeks on your desk and looking forward to seeing the finished projects later...
From one tidy desk to another. It does seem to be working for me!
Hugs
xx
I am interested in the crackle paint as it looks so effective. Sometimes they can be disappointing.
ReplyDeleteYes, we always have to get our priorities correct!!!

Lynne
Alison thanks for the visit love your crafting space. Great tags too.
ReplyDeleteHave fun, Erika.
I see you are still away from home. I love how you just bring it all with you! That crackle paint is looking pretty nice. Hope you are having a great day!
ReplyDeleteKaren 109
Ooooh, that turquoise tag is gorgeous...they all are wonderful but the turquoise just jumps off the screen!
ReplyDeleteYou have done such a fab job of packing so that you can stay creative.
We have an RV on a lot about 4 hours from home. It is in a hot area of our province where it rarely rains (unlike the Vancouver area where I live normally)
I thought i was an expert at packing stuff to travel as I like to keep busy up there when DH is out on the boat or golf course. But you are the expert I see!!!
I will have to check out the Tm Holtz suitcase as it really seems to keep everything so organized.
One should always have a decanter of something to perk one up whilst crafting :) Actually, make mine a large mug of tea!!
ReplyDeleteLovely tags and bits there - I love that you chucked out clothes t0 make room for your stash!!
And I'm really glad that you enjoyed the carol - I lost about 1.5 hours in Youtube while researching that!!
Hugs, LLJ #36 xx

ReplyDeleteHi, thanks for visiting, This weeks WOYWW has come at a bad time...am hooked on reading. Love the Tags. I still have some crackle paint somewhere, looking at yours I must did it out.
ReplyDeleteSilvia#69
I wasn't around last week so I didn't get to see the fabulous traveling cargo case, so I had to go back and check it out. That is the most awesome present! There sure is a lot of room in there. I had to laugh at the next set of photos, "What on earth did she bring a glass vase for?!!!" I stand corrected. Of course crafting leads to complicated packing and possibly even the arriving at your destination with no underwear except what you are wearing. We have our priorities right! Love the crackle look on those tags!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very creative place :)
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of travelling essentials, are you in a hotel, what do they think you are making in there?
ReplyDeletethe little heart look slovely
thanks for sharing
janet #31
I love that crackle paint effect. I don't remember to use mine often enough. That's a very pretty flower wreath too. The cargo case looks very good and roomy. handy when you are 'unsettled' and have to cart your stuff around. thanks for sharing this week. Kate x #54
ReplyDeleteLoving the look of the crackly stuff, I've never used that although I've got a bottle of Crackly Accents waiting somewhere for me to play with.
ReplyDeleteLots of yummy goodies to look at on your desk too.
Thanks for your earlier visit Alison, have a crafty week.
Cheers from Elaine #35
Lots to snoop on and some gorgeous technique results too. I'm well impressed that you got round most of the desks... WOW!! Quite an achievement!
ReplyDeleteJo x
Wow, for a travelling crafty space that is fantastic. Your tags are fabulous, love the heart on the the little flower wreath.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Von #44
Oh I love the heart! Your tags are looking pretty good..can't wait to see the finished tag. Oh look at all the cool stamps! And of course they should have place of honor in the suitcases!! Nan 93
ReplyDeleteYour tags are just lovely! And oh do you have the crafting bug LOL I would much rather craft in the same old clothes than worry about packing those! Tks for coming my way! Sandi #105
ReplyDeleteWell done for getting found everyone, that must have taken forever! I wouldn't stand s chance . Great stuff to see today
ReplyDeleteFamfa (86)
Well done! I think I've ever only visited every single one once - quite a marathon now there are so many of us. I haven't usually got the energy to do more than a few each week, I'm afraid. I love your crackled tags - fabulous colours! I adore doing this. Who said it was boring watching paint dry? And look at all your gorgeous stash! I bet you can't wait to get settled in permanently and not have to resort to travelling stash any more.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment - glad you like my cards! Still a lot more to do and I'm hoping not to go off the boil any time soon! I really want to be doing other things, but needs must!
Happy WOYWW,
Shoshi #85
I really like your grateful heart piece and the crackle tags in progress look interesting. It can sometimes be freeing to work in a temporary space with fewer things . . . but it can also be frustrating. Looks like you are making the best of it. :) Thanks for visiting me already and happy WOYWW. ~ Laura #108
ReplyDeletepretty tags! the crackle turned out nice as did the wreath! Happy WOYWW! Lindsay #119
ReplyDeleteHi Alison
ReplyDeleteA pleasure to visit your desk again. Lovely work on show - the crackle is fantastic isn't it. Love the circle you have done and the heart is gorgeous.
Cannot believe you took so much crafting stuff with you, wonder what they think in the hotel when they come to clean? Bet they look forward to doing your room.
Hugs and Thanks for visiting me, Neet 47 (one day I will be early instead of playing catch up) x
That crackle effect is wonderful, Alison. I'm the queen of the Last-To-Try-Anything, but your tags are making me seriously consider getting some of that glaze!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by this week, and happy woyww to you!

great looking tags and I love all that stash. I travel with my husband some...he is gone half of most years...and I can travel with 3 pants, 6 shirts, underwear, socks, little makeup etc but forget telling me to pare down on crafty crap! Won't happen. I am packing for a 10 day cruise and one portion of my bag is for my journal. Hope you have a great week and thanks for visiting my desk this week. vickie #2

ReplyDeleteMy goodness Alison, how do you manage the feat of visiting all those desks? I am lucky if I get to 20.
ReplyDeleteI love your thankful heart. The leaves look so pretty on it. I also like that shade of blue on the tag.
I hope you are having a great day today. I am off to go spend it with family, some yummy food and some football.

Glad you were able to bring so much craft supplies! Clothes can always be washed and re-worn, huh? Not so with stamp sets...uh, well, not exactly so. :) Your work is looking fab...can't wait to see where you go with those fab bases. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment already. Deeyll #76 :)
